The ivibe mod for Doom 3

Hello all... I just checked out a nearly final intellivibe mod for Doom 3 thanks to Steve Baker! I still have to write the intellivibe module for that mod, but the technical integration layer is done. The rest is the easy part

Hopefully more info on this coming soon!

Re: The ivibe mod for Doom 3

when i was developing this i found that doom 3 tracks the players heartbeat throughout the game. when the game becomes more intense the heart rate goes up and you can actually hear the beat. i can't wait to feel it as well

Post Re: The ivibe mod for Doom 3

Steve the thing about the heart beat is that it will have it's own settings, most likely as follows, and assuming each heart beat is an two stage effect like "BUM bum":

Heart Beat [checkbox] -- turns effect on or off
Heart Beat Max [percentage] -- the power of the main beat (BUM)
Heart Beat Min [percetange] -- the power of the second beat (bum) vs. the main beat
Heart Beat On at [percentage] -- will set the range where the effect starts

So you can dial in the way you want to feel the heart beat As your heart rate increases, the BUM and bum will rise and get more rapid from Min to Max, and the duration will shorten as well as the delay between the beats. So it should be cool. Or not. Time will tell. But that is the plan, and un-checking the main box makes it stop enitrely.

I mean of course I'll make defaults but if you want to tweak the settings, it'll all be there

Again thanks for your help because without your contribution we'd be stuck with AudioSense for all incoming and universal intellivibe for the weapons discharge. And Doom 3 is a pretty sloppy environment from an audio analysis perspective (lot's of BOOMs coming from all sides all the time more or less) LOL

ttl
Thanks again!

Is there an Intellivibe module available or was this for the old version?
