how to fix vrf instability

Is there any magic start up procedure so you don´t get the fuses running 9/10 attempts... If I finally get it working in a session it works but you often have to spend 15 minutes before each session trying to reset the fuses, restart the game and such... Sometimes you have to remove the usb cable and attach it again several times before the vrf is found again... I do have the usb 2.0 fix installed so that shouldn´t be a problem.

Re: how to fix vrf instability

low med high doesn´t seem to make much difference...

Don´t know if it´s a specific issue for rFactor either. So far I have had better luck with FSX though I get the same issue there as well. I am running usb 2.0 since I don´t have a printer port.

I get the same issues intermittently as well... No vibes until i go to the control panel and check (i run rfactor, FSX, and sometimes just audiosense with Crysis). I haven't been able to pin down exactly what the steps are to duplicate it though.

yeah you kind of have to win the lottery... It´s frustrating because it can easilly take 5-10 minutes before I get it working.

Re: how to fix vrf instability

This is just getting worse... Tried a reinstall now and it crashes while playing too when I one out of 15 times get it to activate in FSX for example...

Is there anything more to it then installing the 2.71 drivers? If so I will have to get a replacement amplifier I suspect.

I noticed in the installation it failed some macrochart etc... But don´t find any more updates then...

Re: how to fix vrf instability

don't know what the macrochart failure is got it a couple of times and it went away. very strange

Craig, you should comment on what this is?

anyway....I get the fuse thing intermittenly. If you reset the fuses 3 times and it comes back, you might as well open another module to resend data...then reopen the one for the game you are playing.

This seems to work...at least it never came back for that session. If its MSFS2004 you can try to save you spot and reload the flight. Think I did that once before having sucess with just the module reload.

This of course works for me so not sure if it will for you. Also I set up my TFS with an extention chord that had a switch on/off on it so I could do the manual reset of fuses and never leave the game and fumble through menus or reaches down to the back of my control panel hardware counsil all the time.......a little more convienent, but then again these fuses should not just trip all the time.

Re: how to fix vrf instability

I pmed and sent an email to craig some week/weeks ago guess he is away on a vacation

I tried FS9 now and there it don´t activate neither in the menus like in FSX or when I start a flight... Sometimes I see the fuses have gone sometimes no fuses but still nothing... I think those times ivibe lost connection with the USB port which happens all the time as well...

When it crashes I have to wait a minute or two for the application to finally close as well.

Re: how to fix vrf instability

Here is what I have from my own documenation:

Getting MSFS to use the intellivibe module:

Like a few of the racing titles, MSFS also needs an extra .dll plug-in placed in it's directory from the FSUIPC package. This package can be obtained from the forum or by doing a search on the web. Once you downloaded and extracted FSUIPC.zip, just copy the file "FSUIPC.dll" into your Flight Simulator "Modules" directory, which is typically at:
C:\Program Files\Microsoft Games\Flight Simulator 9\Modules\
- Intellivibe should now work with MSFS. If the module does not properly loaded, make sure “Disable Auto-Detect of Intellive Modules” is unchecked.

I am also going to add to that resend all data from TFS2 menu intil it takes.

Other then that I am not quite sure. If you have the latest bios you should be okay other then the fuse issue.

Are you saying you have never got MSFS2004 to work or does the fuses just go all the time now. I know that USB connector can get flimsey if the chord is tugged while moving around. Kind of has me worried. I am starting to unplug the usb from control unit if I move it around cause I am worried about how loose the port seems to be getting....might be an issue with your connection going????is yours somewhat loose as well?...maybe watch that and find a way to keep it solid or at least strait comming out. You get a pretty nice beefy cable with the unit, but I think the cable is stronger then the port it goes in

hope some of these ideas help

Kyle

Re: how to fix vrf instability

Well it´s about as loose as when I got it... But it disconnects even though I haven´t even touched the cable so think it´s not that... As for FSUIPC I have a registered version even...

I do get the forces... in FSX before reinstallation of XP I got it working and continue to work one of fifteen tries... most often it quit during takeoff... in FS 2004 I get a slight stomp in my ivibe then either the fuses has gone or the forces just disappear like it has no connection...

Hope Craig gets here soon. He should have some thread so we know where he is when he disappears like this. More information and more communication across the board. Like when I got my Ivibe got support very soon even by phone across the atlantic ocean
